  1.      Typing is rapidly being replaced by the computer based
  2. word processor.  This trend results from the fact typing is
  3. far less cost effective than is word processing.  With word
  4. processing software directly involved with the capabilities
  5. of the computer, it is only a matter of time before a total
  6. halt occurs in typewriter production.  Quite possibly there
  7. is no better example of technology's great influence on our
  8. nation's economy and society.  Although the keyboard of the
  9. typewriter is also built into the computer keyboard, typing
  10. is an obsolete term.  Keyboarding describes computer entry.
  11.      Also used to describe microcomputer data entry are the
  12. words keying and key entry.  Being typewriter connected, we
  13. should expect the long used words typing and typewriting to
  14. expire quite slowly.  Keyboarding, or keying, describes the
  15. key operation of all sections of the computer keyboard.  In
  16. contrast, typing refers to the operation of a limited group
  17. of keys that make up the typewriter keyboard.  The computer
  18. keyboard consists of the following key groups:  the numeric
  19. keypad, the alphabetic keys, the cursor movers, and special
  20. function keys.  Computer keyboards thus have four sections.
